"Hi Jammers! My name is Amy.  I am native of Sarasota. When I attended elementary school at Julie Rohr Academy, I fell in love with entertaining. As I sang and danced on stage as "the mayor's wife" in The Music Man, the stage became my passion. From 1993-1996, I studied dance in Booker High School's Visual Performing Arts Program. Taking classes in ballet, tap, jazz and modern, I grew more in love with dance. After high school, however, I set dance aside to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. Now, at age 31, I am currently studying for my Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine, however I still maintain my love for the Arts. I have danced with the China Dolls hip hop team, taught at the Florida Ballet Arts Academy and The Players Theatre, and starred as the gypsy Fermina at the Players Man of La Mancha. My dance idols include Janet Jackson, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and choreographers Wade Robson and Mia Michaels. At the moment I am engrossed in hip hop and thrilled to be a part of the Florida Jammers for another year! Who's Pumped! I'm pumped! Oh I am so pumped! YEAH!"  : )

Anna

"Hi Jammers!  My name is Anna and I moved to Sarasota 5 years ago from Pennsylvania.  I have been dancing for nearly 20 years!  I started with ballet, then added tap, jazz and modern.  I have recently started to find my “funky” hip hop side and I am loving it!  At my studio in Pennsylvania I performed in numerous full-length classical ballets including Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Cinderella and the Nutcracker and also had the opportunity to perform in several shows at the Pocono Playhouse.  When I headed off to college at Elizabethtown College in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, I was a member, choreographer and eventually the Vice President of the dance club, E-Motion.  It was there that I recognized my strong passion for the art of dance.  When I moved to Florida, I started teaching dance and felt I found my dream job!  I love every minute of it!  Actually, I love teaching so much that in 2006 I went back to school at the University of South Florida and received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.  I am so excited to be part of the Florida Jammers this year!"  ~Eat, Sleep, Dance~

"Hey Jammers! My name is Wendy. I recently moved from the cold mountains of New Hampshire to SUNNY Venice Beach, Florida! I love dance and was a cheerleader from the age of 5! Throughout those years, I worked my way up from Pop Warner to Varsity High School teams taking many first place and second place Regional and State titles. We had a very diverse range of dances from Jazz and Hip Hop to swing and many pom routines!. Eventually, I went back to my roots to coach my former Pop Warner teams helping them to take 1st place in Regionals and 2nd in State! I look forward to broadening my dance skills this year to learn more about the different kinds of dance that are out there. I love to dance and love working with kids, most recently my own 2 beautiful daughters. I look forward to working with you this year as a Florida Jammer! ITS JAM TIME!!"

Jenna

"Hi Jammers- I’m Jenna, and I’m so excited about this school year! I moved around the Midwest a lot growing up, but always took dance lessons: jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, ballet, pointe… In high school I taught competitive classes to elementary and middle-schoolers who were awesome at Starpower Nationals in Ocean City, MD. I came to Sarasota to go to New College, where I focused on modern, contact improvisation, and site-specific dance. I took classes with Leymis Bolanos-Wilmott, and my senior thesis was focused on her contemporary company Fuzion Dance Artists; my research included participation in the SalOm Project, a community show with the goal of promoting peace and unity through movement. After college, I taught dance and gymnastics at The Little Gym of University Park, where I worked with kids of all abilities and discovered an interest in occupational therapy. I love being able to share my passion for dance with others!"

"Hi Jammers, my name is Michele. I was Born in Queens NY but moved to sunny Venice, FL at the age of three. I have been involved with cheerleading, gymnastics and dance since I was five years old. I love being in front of an audience. Jazz and tap classes were the start of my experience. It wasn't until middle school that I started cheering for Pop Warner. When I went into high school, I cheered for Venice High's Varsity teams. I have a five year old little boy who also loves to dance. He must get it from me. I am looking forward to a great year! Dance like no one is watching!"

Felicia

"Hi Jammers! My name is Felicia, I am 18 years old and have been dancing and cheering since I was three years old. I recently graduated from high school, and I am attending State College of Florida. I have lived in the beautiful sunshine state all my life, and I can't imagine living anywhere else. I started dancing as a baby with ballet, which then turned into gymnastics and competitive dance. I danced on a jazz and pom competitive teams all through middle school where I was co-captain of both teams, and received dancer of the year twice in a row. I then moved on to cheerleading in my high school years and was put on Varsity my 8th grade year. Our team went to nationals and placed 1st in our division. I was also captain my junior and senior year, and coached our elementary team, and a team at the YMCA. I've participated in NDA and CDA choreography camps and won best participant overall in the NDA division, and have had the opportunity to work with some great dancers and cheerleaders. Some include the assistant coach from Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and some dancers from the Broadway plays Grease and Wicked. I love to dance and just have lots of FUN. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone this year, and not only be your teacher but a friend and a sister as well - so don't hesitate to talk to me about anything! :) I am very excited for this year, and the years to come! Keep on Jammin' Jammers, just don't forget to breathe!!"

"Hey girls!  I'm Jenny!  I'm a junior at Riverview High School.  I'm absolutely in love with dance, and I've been dancing since I was 5.  I started with ballet, then I did ballroom, jazz, modern, and hip hop.  I did dance until I moved from Zimbabwe, Africa when I was 11.  I've recently started dancing again and I made the Highland dance team at my school.  They do Scottish dancing and we perform at football games with the Kiltie band. I'm so happy and excited to start my second year with the FLORIDA JAMMERS! I LOVE DANCE!"

Sarah

"Hi Jammers!! My name is Sarah and I am a senior at Palmetto High School.  I have been dancing and performing ever since I can remember and I absolutely love it!!  I started with ballet and cheer then went on to jazz, acro, ballroom, hip hop (my favorite), and tap.  I also love to sing and have been in several musical productions.  As a freshman in high school, I made the Tiger Dance Team and was selected co-captain my junior year.  Our team traveled to many competitions and camps where we earned lots of awards and titles.  Now as a senior, I decided to switch it up and became a cheerleader on my school's varsity squad.  I love kids and have enjoyed working with Pop Warner cheer as well as junior dance champs.  I'm super happy and excited to have joined the Jammers and can't wait to start dancing with you!!!"

"Ahoy ladies!  My name is Rachel and I'm so stoked to be working with you all this year!  I have lived in Florida all of my life, and have been exposed to dance almost as long.  My mother always wanted me to be a dancer and would put me in random classes, but I didn't really fall in love with it until Jammers' very own NICOLE taught me my very first tap class.  Since then, no one can stop me!  I have trained in:  tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, pointe, lyrical, as well as taken master classes from teachers seen on the AMAZING T.V. show "So You Think You Can Dance" including Tyce Diorio, Mandy Moore, and Nick Lazzarini.  I competed in my studio's competition team for three years (again under the instruction of Nicole) and received second best overall out of the entire competition.  When I started high school, I nervously auditioned to attempt Scottish dancing and be a Highland dancer and now 3 years later, I am Principal Dancer for the Riverview High School Kilti Band.  I am completely in love with it and all of the girls in it.  I'm goofy, loud, and obsessed with Johnny Depp, and I can't wait to make some new friends and share my love of dance with all of you!  Dance looks pretty silly to those who can't hear the music! XoXo, Rachel"

Aryn

"Hey, ladies! My name is Aryn. I just moved to Sarasota to attend New College of Florida. I’ve been taking dance classes since I was three, starting with ballet and tap, and then jazz, modern, and hip hop. My new love, however, is swing dancing. I have taken numerous master classes from instructors including Mary Price Boday, Wade Robson, and former members of the Broadway cast of Cats. In my hometown of Dade City, Florida, I taught hip hop, ballet, and tap classes at a local studio. I served as assistant and lead choreographer of Suessical the Musical and Peter Pan the Musical, respectively, for community theater group, Arts in Motion. I also choreographed independently for various students of Graham Music Studio. I am so thrilled to be a part of Florida Jammers and to continue pursuing my passion!"

"Hi everyone! I'm Maribeth or Mimi for short. I'm 16 and have been dancing for 13 wonderful years.  I have loved every moment of it! I've done many different styles of dance such as jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, etc. I've danced with many well known dancers and choreographers such as Tyce Diorio, Gregg Russel and Mandi Moore (the dancer not the singer) and have attended many dance conventions. I've also competed with dance and have gotten many rave reviews. Dancing is a passion of mine, something I want to be doing for a long time to come! I'm so excited to be apart of the Jammer family and can't wait to get to know all my Jammers! JUST DANCE!!!!"
